Chief Human Capital Officer Support for Veterans’ Employment in the Federal Government

Upon appointment by President Bush in 2001, I have worked closely with Administration teammates across Government to support the President's efforts to increase the hiring of veterans. We should take pride in knowing 25 percent of all Federal employees are veterans compared to 9.4 percent in the civilian labor force. As I prepare to leave OPM, I want to stress the importance of honoring the service of our Nation's veterans by ensuring they receive every opportunity to continue to serve this country in the United States civil service.

Office of Personnel Management Executive Resources Forum

The Office of Personnel Management (OPM ) will host an interagency Executive Resources (ER) Forum on Wednesday, January 26, 2005, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Alan K Campbell Auditorium. The Forum will provide an opportunity for OPM executive resource personnel and Human Capital Officers to meet with agency executive resources and Candidate Development Program (CDP) managers to address common concerns and update the community on ongoing and future ER initiatives.

End-to-End Hiring Roadmap

Society of American Indian Government Employees Fifth Annual Training Conference

The Society of American Indian Government Employees will hold their 5th Annual Training Conference June 2-6, 2008 near Traverse City, MI. The training program is targeted towards Federal employees. The title for this year is "Blessed by Tradition: Honoring Our Ancestors Through Government Service." This conference provides three days of training qualified in compliance with 5 U.S.C. Chapter 41. The training is open to all employees and will provide training and workshops over a wide range of topics ranging from career planning to project management and leadership skills.

Listing of Presidentially-appointed positions for Republican and Democratic Presidential Nominees

The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) is required as part of the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 (Section 8402) to send a detailed listing of Presidentially-appointed positions to the Republican and Democrat candidates for President. This new law requires that the information be provided not later than 15 days after the date on which a major party nominates a candidate for President.
