Tuesday, January 8, 2002
MSG 2002-001
MEMORANDUM FOR:
Heads Of Executive Departments And Agencies
Subject:
Symposium on Employee and Labor Relations (SOELR)

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN

Registration for the 2002 Symposium on Employee and Labor Relations (SOELR) is now open. We are pleased that we are able to offer registration without raising the conference fees charged for the last SOELR conference. Brochures are in the printing process and will be mailed to those that attended SOELR 2001 in Chicago and those that were on the SOELR 2001 waiting list. The brochure is currently on OPM's homepage at www.opm.gov. Please click on "Conference Details" to immediately view the brochure. The brochure contains all registration information for SOELR 2002 and has a "Registration Form" page which can be completed on screen, printed and faxed to us to register. Individuals will be confirmed for attendance at SOELR in the order that we receive registration materials.

SOELR 2002 will be held at the Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on March 12-15, 2002. SOELR is a comprehensive national conference for Federal employees and is devoted to recent developments and emerging issues in employee relations, labor relations, and dispute resolution. Employees from across the country and overseas attend it each year.

Individuals must provide OPM with their preferences for registering at one of seven hotels listed in the SOELR 2002 brochure. Rooms will be available at the GSA per diem rate through February 7, 2002. Rooms reserved after that date are not guaranteed this rate. Individuals attending SOELR will not be able to reserve rooms at the hotels without first registering for the conference and receiving a confirmation notice and a hotel registration form from OPM. Please see the brochure for details on how to reserve rooms.

We apologize for any inconvenience resulting from the late opening of SOELR registration this year. If you need help or have questions about registration or SOELR 2002 in general, please check the SOELR brochure on OPM's homepage, call us at (202) 606-4446, or email us at soelr@opm.gov.
