Nathaniel Benjamin

Nathaniel H. Benjamin currently serves as the Deputy Chief Human Capital Officer and Human Capital Director for the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Nathaniel will lead the agency’s efforts in human capital strategic planning, overall workforce development efforts, and human capital policy development while leading the human capital staff.

Prior to joining OMB, Mr. Benjamin served for five years as the Deputy Human Resources Officer for the T Bureaus at the Department of State.  At the State Department, he led the civil service staff for three bureaus supporting the arms control and international security missions.  He performed this role by managing the full range of human resources to include classification, staffing, performance management, employee relations, and strategic planning. 

Before the State Department, Mr. Benjamin worked for seven years for the Department of Defense as a Human Resources Specialist and a Human Capital Advisor.  In addition, he proudly served in the United States Air Force.

Nathaniel is a graduate of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, University of Baltimore and Johns Hopkins University.   He is the husband to Angela Benjamin and the proud father of a son, Andrew and a daughter, Naomi.
