League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) 74th Annual Conference and Federal Training Institute

The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) 74th Annual Conference and Federal Training Institute (FTI) will be in Orlando, Florida, on June 16-21, 2003. This year's theme is "Latinos Unidos: Realizing the Promise".

LULAC is a volunteer, non-profit organization founded in 1929 to advance the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, health, and civil rights of Hispanic Americans through community-based programs. The LULAC Federal Training Institute (FTI) curriculum, an extensive and structured Career Development program, helps current and potential managers develop the characteristics and competencies essential to be Federal leaders.

This year the FTI, will partner with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Graduate School and the U. S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) to offer seminars, workshops, and plenary sessions to enable participants to enhance their leadership skills and to develop new competencies based on the Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) required for entry to the Senior Executive Service. ECQs are used by departments and agencies in selection, management, and development of high potential employees.

OPM supports LULAC's efforts. The conference is an excellent opportunity for your employees to gain valuable insight. For additional information, please contact Brent Wilkes, LULAC's Executive Director, at (202) 833-6130, or visit LULAC's web site at: www.lulac.org.
