MEMORANDUM FOR:
Heads Of Executive Departments And Agencies
From:
Nancy E. Randa, Assistant Director for Merit Systems Effectiveness Office of Personnel Management
Subject:
Corporate Leadership Council (CLC) Presentation, A New Measurement Mandate: Leveraging HR and Organizational Metrics to Enhance Corporate Performance

As part of our ongoing effort to make available the latest information about innovations and best practices in the world of HRM, OPM's Office of Merit Systems Effectiveness would like to invite you or a designated representative from your organization to join us for the FY 2002 annual Corporate Leadership Council (CLC) presentation in our agency. The CLC is the membership division of an organization known as The Corporate Executive Board, whose mission is to provide best practices research and executive education in the areas of corporate strategy, operations and general management.

The presentation will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2001 from 1:30 to 4:00 PM in the Alan K. Campbell Auditorium, OPM, 1900 E Street NW.

Mr. Dan Currell, Director of Member Education, will be the speaker. He will present the findings on CLC's most recently published study: A New Measurement Mandate: Leveraging HR and Organizational Metrics to Enhance Corporate Performance. The Council research suggests that the most successful strategy for carrying out the new measurement mandate is to leverage the power of existing workforce metrics by tying them directly to organization priorities and performance. Among other topics, Mr. Currell will discuss challenges faced by some organizations when aligning HR metrics with their organizational strategies.

Some of you whose agencies are CLC members or have seen their presentations know that they are typically full of cutting-edge research and analysis that is of vital interest to the HRM professional.

We hope to see you there. Please contact Wanda Báez of my staff (wbaez@opm.gov., 202-606-1861) if you want to attend or if you have any questions. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Nancy Randa
