American GI Forum of the United States Annual National Conference

The American GI Forum of the United States (AGIF) will be having its Annual National Conference in Chicago on August 8-12, 2001. The conference will be held at the Tinselly Park Holiday Inn and Convention Center.

The AGIF, founded in 1948, is the oldest and largest recognized Hispanic Veterans nonprofit organization. This year, AGIF will commemorate the 61st anniversary of the ending of World War II and the contributions of Hispanic American veterans.

The AGIF Conference, in conjunction with the Department of Veterans Affairs and the National Conference Planning Committee, will feature workshops and exhibits that will be open to the public. This year's topics, of particular interest to Federal participants, will include Executive Order 13171, Complaints Prevention, Implementing Veterans Preference, and Diversity in the Workplace.
