In September 2015, OPM hosted a CHCO Training Academy on Training Program Evaluation in the Federal Government. Agencies are required to “evaluate their training programs annually to determine how well such plans and programs contribute to mission accomplishment and meet organizational performance goals” (5 CFR 410. 202). In addition to help complying with regulations, this event offered participants strategies and tools to effectively evaluate leadership development programs.  Presenters addressed specific strategies like Return on Investment (ROI), evaluation from a research perspective, and evaluation as a business tool used to accomplish the agency mission.
