Terence Cook (Terry) is the Deputy Chief Human Capital Officer (CHCO) for the U.S. Department of Justice.Terry, a member of the Senior Executive Service, assumed his position as Director – Human Resources for Justice in February 2012 after serving as the Assistant Director for the Systems Analysis and Review Group of the Justice Management Division.
As Deputy CHCO, he provides strategic leadership in planning, operational excellence, and oversight in all activities associated with human capital programs and policies. He is also responsible for supporting and facilitating the Department’s mission in promoting the effective management of human capital, with a vision of attracting, developing, and engaging a talented and diversified workforce.
Terry has over 16 years of experience in program management, and systems integration and analysis in the Federal Government.Prior to his arrival at the Department of Justice, he served as Information Officer for the Office of the Secretary, Department of State.Mr. Cook has also served in information technology and management analyst positions in his federal career which includes the Departments of Commerce and Defense.
A native of Washington, D.C., Terry obtained his Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of Maryland, College Park.
